My wife and I have working real hard at losing those unwanted pounds and becoming healthier and fitter. Through proper diet and excercise, the poundage has melted away and has now created a new problem.....new clothes.
We have found several thrift stores in our area to satisfy our needs and wardrobe requirements. Herr Frugalmeister works as a middle manager in an office. The office is business casual and I was told a long time ago to be the part, you need to dress the part. So as an alternative to outlaying a large amount of cash for professional clothes, I have found a number of dress shirts made by the major companies and dress slacks as well to meet my needs. Same goes with Frau Frugalmeister, what a deal. No polyester cheapies, but wool blends. On average, I believe I have about $8.00 for each shirt/slacks combo. In fact, I haven't paid retail for any shirt, shorts or slacks in over a year!
We've learned by going to these thrift stores, we are not only recycling clothing, we are discerning adults and don't go for the cheap stuff, we select what we will actually use. So please consider stopping by a Goodwill/Salvation Army/Hospice or another type of thrift store for your needs. You just need to keep an open mind when you visit.
Just a couple of suggestions and our two sense worth.
